3 ways Purdue is branching out
1. IUPUI
Despite the famed rivalry, IUPUI is a unique collaboration between Indiana University and Purdue University dating back to 1969. IUPUI is home to more than 28,000 students and 350 areas of study and has more than 180,000 alumni.
2. Regional Campuses
Purdue’s West Lafayette campus might be the largest, but across Indiana are tens of thousands of other Purdue students, including 30,000 at IUPUI; 10,000 at both Purdue Northwest and Fort Wayne; 1,400 at IUPUC; plus thousands more enrolled in Purdue University Global. Purdue’s regional campuses date back to the War Manpower Training program, set up to provide technical training around the state. It wasn’t until the 1970s that formal satellite locations were established.
3. Centaur Equine Specialty Hospital
Established in 2017, the Equine Specialty Hospital is a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging, sports medicine, and surgical center for horses. Located in Shelbyville, Indiana, near two horse racing tracks, this branch of the Purdue Veterinary Hospital provides high-quality care to working horses, racehorses, performance horses, and other equines.
